Summer of 2018, MEC installed a 10KW completely off-grid photo-voltaic system on the remote location of Vargas Island. In the absence of utility power on the island, the MEC system enabled Cedar Coast Field Station to operate 100% without the use of their diesel generator.
This project was a small but very critical for the town of Tofino. We installed a solar system which was required to run the level / control system for which the Districts water system relied on. as well as providing communications from water towers to plants.
Complete in winter of 2018, MEC Projects was happy to assist Tuff City Radio in going 100% off the grid. We designed and installed a solar system set up that gave the West Coasts favourite radio station total independence.
In 2020, MEC Projects completed the electrical solar design and upgrades to the remote Cheewhat cabin for Parks Canada.
MEC Projects Ltd. serves clients across Tofino, Ucluelet, Parksville, Port Alberni, Comox, Courtenay, Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, and the surrounding areas.
